Coronavirus (COVID-19) Considerations and Precautions During a Home Inspection

Firstline Inspections is fully committed to ensuring the home inspection process is conducted as safely as possible.

The following  is based on current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Wisconsin Department of Health and InterNACHI's COVID-19 Guidelines. Since the situation is changing constantly this page will be updated periodically to reflect any changes to procedures or recommendations.

Recommendations for the Buyer/Buyer's Agent:

  • Your safety is our first priority.

  • If you wish to attend, we will ask you to do so only at the end of the inspection (last 20 to 30 minutes for a review) and practice social distancing while we summarize the inspection findings.

  • If you choose not to be present at the inspection, Firstline has you covered! The detail provided in the inspection report (including photos) will paint a clear and concise picture of what was noted during the inspection. We will also follow up with a phone or video call at the end of the inspection.

  • Do not attend the inspection if you feel sick, or if you exhibit symptoms of a respiratory illness. Contact your medical provider.

  • Do not bring children, relatives, contractors, or others to the inspection.

  • Touch as few things in the home as possible. We will have hand sanitizer and disposable nitrile gloves available.

Recommendations for the Seller/Seller's Agent:

  • Your safety is our first priority.

  • Reschedule the inspection if anyone in the home feels sick, or exhibits symptoms of a respiratory illness. Contact your medical provider.

  • Do not attend the inspection. Make arrangements for relatives and others to be out of the home during the inspection.

  • Wipe bathroom and kitchen fixtures, toilet handles, and doorknobs with a sanitizing wipe before the inspection. Be sure the wipe instructions allow for use on the surface.

  • Before we leave the inspection, we will also be using sanitizing wipes to wipe down items that may have been touched during the inspection.
